Can't copy from ReFS to Server 2003 NTFS share -- "File Too Large"

I'm running 8.,1 Enterprise on a new system with an NTFS SSD boot disk (C:) and a Mirroed ReFS Storage Space data volume (E:).

I tried to drag a very small text file from my Desktop to a remote 2003 Server share opened in Windows Explorer and got an error dialog:

File Too Large

The file 'foo.txt' is too large for the destination file system. foo.txt Type: Text Document Size: 1.82 KB Date modified: etc., etc.

I copied this text file to a folder on my C: drive and then tried to drag it from there to the shared folder, and it worked.

There are also no issues copying from the ReFS volume to a 2008 R2 share.

I hope this can get fixed soon because it's really going to impact my workflow.

Hi,

Where the User Profile folder located? In C drive? According to the error message, it seems like file system compatibility problem.

The user Desktop is relocated to the E: drive (the ReFS file system). It seems to me like a shared folder protocol problem, since the ReFS files can be copied to NTFS file systems locally and remotely on 2008 R2 systems.

I'm confused. How is this an answer? To me an answer would be some acknowledgement that there's a problem and that Microsoft is working on it.

I am having this issue as well.  I get the error when trying to copy anything from my ReFS formatted drive (part of a storage pool) on Windows Server 2012 Essentials to a Windows 7 shared drive on a networked PC.  I am able to create folders on the shared drive, but trying to place any files at all results in the "file too large" error.
